Riverdale actor Lili Reinhart has been lined up to star in a new Netflix project

Sharing is caring!

The actor, who is starring in Riverdale as Betty Cooper, will lead the drama Plus/Minus in a dual role, playing two different versions of the character Natalie.

The film picks up just before Natalie graduates from college, before splitting into two parallel realities, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the first reality, Natalie finds out she’s pregnant and spends her young adult life raising her child in her Texas hometown. The second alternate universe sees Reinhart’s character following her career dreams and moving to Los Angeles.

“In both journeys throughout her 20s, Natalie experiences life-changing love, devastating heartbreak, and rediscovers herself,” the publication adds.

Plus/Minus will be directed by Wanuri Kahiu and is written by April Prosser.

It’s been a busy past year for Reinhart – in addition to Riverdale, her most recent film Chemical Hearts launched on Amazon Prime Video in August and she released a book of poems called Swimming Lessons in September.

Riverdale is in the middle of its fifth season, which recently featured a lengthy seven-year time jump. Betty was seen training with the FBI and having nightmares before returning to Riverdale and reconnecting with her high school friends.

“I get to play someone who’s my age now and not a teenager,” she told Seth Meyers late last year, when discussing one benefit about the time jump.

“I’m going up in the world… I don’t want to be 30 playing an 18-year-old!”

The show has already been renewed for a sixth season.
